I had a suspicion that the received wisdom is that &#8216;good&#8217; pictures show movement from left to right.  Sure enough, when I checked, I found that this is indeed the case &#8211; apparently even photography judges may well be unconsciously biased towards left to right images.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, there is also the coming towards you or going away from you dynamic in play.
